About Us
~ Our Story Begins.
Proactive Philanthropy was established in 1998 by Edward McPherson. Ed graduated from MIT with
a Master's Degree in Real Estate Development. His team includes professional advisors who are
experts in real estate, debt financing, accounting, and legal fields.
" We are seeing our conservation paradigm dramatically shift, making it harder to plan and see what’s ahead. But the good news is that the Proactive Philanthropy was made for moments like this, and we will continue to organize and support the proactive
philanthropy community as it addresses some of society’s greatest challenges, like ensuring clean water, protecting essential plant and animal habitats, and providing communities with access to fresh, local food. "
— Edward McPherson, president and CEO
